This is a broad based course which enables students to explore a range of techniques and processes to develop their personal ideas. Students will experiment and develop skills in film-based photography, digital photography, film and video.
For Level 3 courses the minimum requirement is 5 x GCSE grades at 4/5 and above (normally including English and Maths) including a minimum of a grade 4/5 in the subjects you wish to study. GCSE Grade 4/5 in Art and Design and Grade 4/5 in English.
The course has two assessed components and it also includes a written piece of continuous prose which makes links to the students own practical investigation; • The personal investigation will be a project developed from the student’s personal ideas. It will consist of a portfolio of development work and outcomes based on themes and ideas (60%). • The externally set assignment consists of students creating a project in response to an externally set theme. They will generate and develop ideas, research primary and contextual sources, experiment with media and processes, and refine ideas towards a personal resolved outcome in a 15 hour exam at the end of the project ((40%)
