Art and Design (Photography)
Course summary
Our A-level photography course begins with a series of short thematic projects which offer a grounding in the critical aspects of the subject, whilst offering students an introduction to the basic technical skills required. Workshops using the darkroom, the studio and industry standard software (Adobe Creative Cloud) are also given. The critical, historical and analytical study of the work of other artist is a fundamental element of your development as a practical artist. You will be asked to research and respond to a broad range of photographers and artists to help you develop your skills and understand. Independent study is important in all subjects, but especially photography, with much of the work for the subject being produced outside of the limited options of lessons. The computer suite, darkroom and studio are available before, during and after lessons for students to access.
