Course summary

The course is exciting and diverse, focusing on the skills of the individual. Students will find a healthy balance with practical and theoretical learning, devising and experimenting in numerous performances throughout the course. Learners must be able to work as part of a team and individually and the course builds these skills through themed work, offering them a chance to let go and enjoy learning creatively, empowered and inspired. The course will give learners the skills, knowledge, and understanding to progress onto a higher education performing arts program or specialist performance degree. How the course is taught? The course is taught through practical and creative learning. Students are required to be independent and imaginative as they are often in control of their own learning. What areas are covered by the course? Learners will study five units consisting of four mandatory units and one optional unit: ➢ Prepare to work in the performing arts sector ➢ Proposal for a commissioning brief ➢ Influential performance practice ➢ Combined Arts ➢ Improvisation

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (including English and Maths) is desirable. We recommend a Grade 5 or above in an Arts subject alongside a Grade 5 or above in English.

How you'll be assessed

Units are assessed through Internal and External Moderation on both performance and portfolio work.
