Over a two year course you will develop a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the areas of web-design, digital graphics, software development, networking, hardware repair and programming. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto Higher Education or employment in the computing industry. Get a good grounding in all aspects of computing and the means to study a specialist area at university.
For our Advanced Vocational courses our entry requirements are a minimum of 5x GCSEs at Grade 4, Maths or English Language or Literature at Grade 4 and Grade 3 in the others. Some courses and subjects will have additional specific entry requirements or require DBS clearance to undertake placements. Information about this can be found on the Apply Portal, and on your offer letter which you will receive after your interview.
The course is delivered as a combination of theory and practical, and you will be assessed through both a portfolio and external assessment for core units set by the exam board. Internal assessments use a wide variety of methods including presentations, reports, posters, podcasts, role-plays and interactive quizzes.
