Over a one year course you will develop a range of practical and theoretical childcare skills, such as, understanding children’s development and communication skills with children and adults. You will gain practical experience working with children in early years' settings. Many students who enjoy and successfully complete this course progress onto the L3 in Children’s Play, Learning and Development. If you are excited by the prospect of working with children, gaining skills and qualifications along the way, with great prospects for your career, we are sure this is the course for you.
For our Pre-Advanced L2 courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language or English Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the others. Level 2 courses last for 1 year. Some vocational courses will have additional specific entry requirements or require DBS clearance to undertake placements. Information about this can be found on the Apply Portal, and on your offer letter which you will receive after your interview.
The course is assessed through coursework which takes the form of assignments, successful completion of each placement and external assessment.
