This course will provide you with an understanding of the complex design, manufacture, maintenance and flight characteristics of both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft. Our aerospace engineering workshop is well-equipped and has access to full-size aircraft. The specialist topics allow you to study particular areas in-depth which may include: • Aircraft flight principles and practice • Aircraft workshop methods and practice • Engineering principles • Aircraft propulsion systems • Aircraft gas turbine systems
Five GCSEs at grade 9-5 including Science, English and Maths, or a Level 2 qualification in Engineering, with a minimum Merit/Distinction profile, a verifiable equivalent qualification and a satisfactory reference from a previous employer or training provider.
Assessment will be through a combination of externally assessed units, internally assessed units and synoptic assessment.
