A Level Sport and Physical Education is a two year course which will give you the opportunity to study a range of topics such as healthy and active lifestyles, analysis and evaluation of physical activity as a performer, evaluating contemporary issues within sport and optimising practical performance in competitive situations. Students who enjoy and successfully complete this subject typically progress onto a range of degree courses at university including Sports Science, Sports Studies, Leisure Management and Physiotherapy.
A minimum of 5x Grade 5s, including PE (if taken) and Science OR Biology.
Year 1: The course is assessed internally via a formal assessment for theory content, practical assessment of performance in a chosen sport, and written coursework. Year 2: The course is assessed via two 2-hour examinations for theory content, with external moderation of the practical and written coursework.
