This course provides the opportunity to study a wide range of business units and achieve a nationally recognized, vocationally relevant qualification. Students will develop their Functional Skills, undertake a work placement, and have the opportunity to participate in visits, and residential and vocational projects with local employers In addition to this students will be involved in the planning and successful implementation of a given event which will support not only the development of their academic skills but also their social skills with a view to continuing their studies at a higher level or getting ready for employment.
A minimum of five GCSE passes at grade 4 or above including Maths and English, OR completion of a recognised alternative qualification, such as BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business at merit level plus English and Maths GCSE Grade 4 and above or equivalent.
You will be assessed by sitting an exam for Unit 3 Personal & Business Finance and by completing an in-class assessment for Unit 2 Developing a Marketing Campaign, both are externally marked. Your remaining units will be assessed by completing a range of assignments for each unit. These involve written assessments, presentations, and role-plays which will allow you to practice key business skills in the process.
