Students can expect a fun and explorative journey into the world of media production. A varying range of assessment methods and teaching techniques ensures that this course of study is both informative and enjoyable. The course offers practicality to students considering their future; following completion of this course, students can progress to a Level 3 advanced course to help prepare and equip themselves for higher education if they wish to study creative media-related subjects. Future areas of employment also include; web design, photography, gaming, and graphic design. In studying this subject all students receive an introduction to the world of media whilst enabling them to develop their understanding of the media industry through analyzing media representations and pitching and producing media projects. During the course, students will develop a range of skills relevant to the creative media sector.
Pass in English and maths, 5 or more grades at 5+ (this can include English and maths), if IT or computing have been studied at KS4 then a Merit or grade 5 is required.
This course is assessed both externally and internally via a range of varying assessment methods. Completion of the course will include specified assignments from the exam board (coursework), an external exam, and an external controlled task which will be set by the exam board and completed during an allocated window of time.
