Psychology is the scientific study of human behaviour. You will look at different explanations for the way in which humans (and non-humans) behave. You will also spend time analysing evidence and theories and comparing research in order to be able to reach conclusions about a variety of topics including mental illness and relationships. You’ll look at how ideas and theories in each area of Psychology have developed, learn how to critically analyse evidence, and undertake some practical research. During your studies, you will have the chance to visit local university psychology faculties, and outside speakers will also visit the College to offer particular insight into different areas of the subject.
5 GCSEs at Grade A* to C (9 to 4), including English Language, another academic subject and Grade B (5 to 6) in both maths and science.
Exam-based assessment. Two, 1 hour 30 minute exams at the end of the first year, and three, two hour exams at the end of the second year.
