Enterprise and entrepreneurship is a major part of the drive to increase the employability of young people in the UK and globally. This course is designed to introduce you to essential business skills useful for all types of employment and everyday life including; marketing, running a business and managing personal finances. Weekly enterprise sessions give you the chance to meet business people and expand your networks and hear about their entrepreneurial journeys. If you are aged 16 to 18, you will be enrolled on a study programme. This will include retaking GCSEs or undertaking Functional Skills in English and maths if you haven’t already achieved a grade 4 or above. You will take part in activities that help you to develop your personal skills, such as building your character and confidence. This will help you to live well and move into your chosen career.
You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above which should include English and maths. You will also need to provide one academic reference from your most recent place of education. The qualification is aimed at post-16 students wanting to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education, and ultimately to employment in the enterprise sector. It is equivalent to 1.5 A-levels and, upon completion, students can progress onto the Extended Diploma.
You will be assessed through a combination of exams, coursework and presentations.
