Course summary

The qualification is designed to help individuals understand finances and the influence that they have on everyday life. Essential topics such as debt, loans, credit cards and budgeting are covered to give individuals the confidence to make important financial decisions. Students will need to have passed the Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) course.

Entry requirements

Usual entry requirements: 5 GCSEs graded at 4 or above (counting 2 BTECs maximum). A grade 4 in English or Maths. Students will need to have passed the Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) course.

How you'll be assessed

Both units will be assessed by e-test / written paper made up of the following components: Part A – 45-minute multiple-choice examination: 35 x 1 mark for each correct answer Part B – 105-minute examination based on a pre-released case study requiring essay responses. Part B – spelling, punctuation and grammar to be marked through the essay responses The pass mark for each component of the unit assessment will be 40%.
