The Cambridge Technical qualifications in Business have been designed in collaboration with universities, employers, and industry specialists to ensure the content is relevant and allows you to develop the skills and understanding needed to go on to further study, employment, or set up your own business. In the first year of this course, you will work towards the Cambridge Technical Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business. There is also the option to continue your studies for a second year to achieve the Cambridge Technical Level 2 Diploma in Business. In this full-time course, you will learn how businesses operate, consider different types of business ownership and business structures, and investigate the relationship between the ownership of a business and achieving its objectives. You will study the internal workings of businesses, including how different functional areas work together, and explore how businesses respond to changes in their economic, social, and technological environment. Throughout the course, you will gain an appreciation of the influence different stakeholders can have on a business. You will learn how to communicate effectively in a business environment and discover how informed business decisions are made using a variety of information. You will develop the skills needed to plan business projects and assess their effectiveness. In the second year, there will be the opportunity to learn about change management, study accounting, and complete a business project. You will learn through a variety of practical activities and theory sessions. Upon completion, you may further develop your business knowledge by progressing to study HNC Business or FdA Business and Management at University Centre South Devon. This program will also help you to progress to an apprenticeship or employment.
