This course is for you if you have a passion for exploring how the universe works, from the tiniest particle to the largest galaxy, and you are willing to persevere with challenging problems that stretch your mathematical and conceptual skills. You will need to engage in a variety of lessons including practical sessions, problem solving, mathematical skills and theoretical work. You will be expected to work in small groups and individually. You will be studying mechanics, electricity, waves, particles, quantum phenomena, astronomy, radioactivity and electric and magnetic fields.
- You need at least a GCSE grade 6 in Physics, or Combined Science and grade 6 in GCSE Maths. - All students must have gained a minimum of five grades 9-4 at GCSE to gain entry onto Level 3 courses, which should include English and Maths at GCSE.
You will be assessed by regular homework tasks, end-of-topic tests, mock examinations, practical competence activities and your final examinations.
