This stimulating subject builds on knowledge gained at GCSE level, but will also provide you the opportunity to encounter different elements of geography that you have not experienced before. It combines well with a wide variety of other subjects both arts and sciences. It will allow you to engage critically with real world issues and places, and to apply your geographical knowledge, theory and skills to the world around you. It will equip you with the skills to become independent thinkers and informed and engaged citizens, who understand the role and importance of geography as one of the key disciplines relevant to understanding the changing world.
- A grade 5 in geography is recommended. However, it is NOT essential to have completed Geography at GCSE, as long as you have a grade 5 in English and Mathematics - All students must have gained a minimum of five grades 9-4 at GCSE to gain entry onto Level 3 courses, which should include English and Maths at GCSE.
The course consists of three externally examined papers and one non-examination assessment component.
