Art, Craft and Design introduces you to a range of traditional and new media, including drawing, painting, print-making and digital processes. Knowledge of Art, Craft and Design will be developed through research, the development of ideas and working from first-hand experience. You will develop practical and theoretical knowledge and understanding of relevant materials, processes, and ways of conveying ideas, feelings and meanings. Learners opting for Art, Craft and Design explore practical and critical/contextual work through a range of 2D and/or 3D processes and media throughout the earlier stages of their personal creative enquiry and must include evidence of working with processes and media associated with more than one title in their submission. The final resolution of their exploratory work can either be selected from 2D and/or 3D processes and media associated with a single endorsed title or a combination of disciplines from more than one endorsed title. This is a broad-based course that provides flexibility in content and approach. Learners can choose this option if they want to explore and create work associated with more than one endorsed title.
5 GCSEs A* to C (9 to 4) including an art and design based subject. Applicants are also expected to present a portfolio of art work.
AS & A Level – Exams and practical assignments. All work submitted for the Personal Creative Enquiry, as with all endorsed titles, will be assessed holistically in relation to the four assessment objectives.
