By studying Media at AS and A Level you will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of media production, how it is created and the impact media has within our environment as a whole. As part of the course you will research the codes and conventions of magazine design and use this research to inform your own production of a magazine including covers and inside spreads. This Media course will broaden your skills in studio photography, graphic design in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign as well as your journalism skills. You’ll visit Northumbria University and the University of Sunderland on study trips, and the Sixth Form College has close links with the Tyneside Cinema. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit media and film festivals both locally and nationally.
5 GCSEs Grade A* to C ( 9 to 4).
AS/A Level – Combination of exams (70%) and one piece of practical course work (30%).
