Course summary

We all have dealings with business organisations. As a customer you purchase goods and services, as a consumer you use these same goods and services. You will work for many businesses throughout your working life. Some of you might dream of setting up your own business and then making millions but throughout you are affected by interest rates, tax rates and inflation. Business is all around us, all of the time, and this course aims to give a taste and an insight into the modern world of business. The course builds on the basics of GCSE and over the two years you will study introductory economics, business ownership, motivation and leadership theorists, marketing, accountancy, decision making models, PESTLE & SWOT analysis, business growth, globalisation and international trade, including with the EU. We aim to make it easy for you to study economics (if you also study Mathematics) or business at university or to undertake a minimum of a Level 4 (Higher) Apprenticeship.
