BTEC Nationals are qualifications that are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications in a range of sectors. They give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that are needed for employment. Equivalent in size to one A Level. The National Extended Certificate includes 4 units of which 2 are coursework based and 2 are external exams. External assessment (67%). It has been designed as part of a two-year programme, normally in conjunction with two or more qualifications at Level 3. The qualification provides the knowledge, understanding and skills that allow learners to gain experience of the sport sector that will prepare them for further study, training or employment.
