Course summary

Core mathematics is an ideal addition to the programme of any driven and committed Level 3 learner. Alongside your complete Level 3 programme you have the chance to extend your mathematics skills beyond GCSE and gain an AS qualification which is recognised and sought after by universities and employers. Core mathematics cleverly supports topics within the Sciences, Economics, Business, Accounting, Psychology and many more subjects.

Entry requirements

Students studying three A Levels will be expected to have a minimum of two GCSEs at grade 6 and three GCSEs at grade 5/4, including English Language and Mathematics at grade 5/4 or above. Or eight GCSEs at a minimum of grade 5.

How you'll be assessed

This course is assessed by two exams at the end of the year. One of the papers is on the compulsory content and the other is on statistical techniques. You will be given preliminary materials in advance of the examinations.
