History A Level involves the study of the past of both Europe and Britain. We cover a variety of key historical events which encompass both political and social history. History is famously regarded as the ‘Science of Mankind’. Through the study of dictators, economic depressions, revolutions, war and famine this course will enable you to grasp the true nature of our ancestors and to examine and judge the choices they made.
4 GCSEs at grade 4 including English Language and/or Maths. In addition to the A Level entry requirements, you will need grade 5 in GCSE English Language.
The coursework is worth 20% of your final mark. The other three units are assessed via an exam.
