This course provides excellent progression from GCSE and it gives students the opportunity to follow a broad-based design course which stimulates creativity and innovation. Students will work on a series of designing and making (working with a range of different materials) activities and a detailed product investigation. They will be given the opportunity to look at various industrial practices. Throughout the course candidates study towards the terminal written papers and design coursework portfolio.
6 or above in DT (resistant materials or product design) 6 or above in Maths Graphics is not accepted.
Coursework practical x 2 and x2 written examinations.
