This course allows students to develop a creative portfolio in any area of Fine art. We start in year 12 with an introduction to the formal elements using a wide range of materials in exciting new and challenging ways. Students then extend their portfolio in year 12 developing ideas and confidence using chosen given themes. In year 13 students create their coursework which consists of a personal project and a supporting essay which is worth 60% of the final grade. In February of Year 13 the exam board will issue the exam paper, from which students choose one theme to work on in class with their teacher, this unit is worth 40% of the final grade. This unit culminates in a 15 hour exam where students work unaided on a final outcome.
Five GCSE's at grade 4 or above.
