Course summary

Creative Media Practice is a vocational media and filmmaking course designed for students who are keen to learn the digital media production techniques that are used to make professional films and television programmes. This course is assessed entirely through coursework, there are no external exams, and will provide you with a whole host of practical skills. If you are planning on going to university, this course awards up to 84 UCAS points towards your application. You will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking such as screenwriting, editing, composition, camera operation, special effects and much, much more. Whilst we have some DSLR cameras you can hire, it is recommended that you have your own camera. We edit on the professional non-linear editing program Davinci Resolve and it is recommended that you also download this software (a free version is available).
