Course summary
Geography is for students who have a thirst for knowledge about the world around them, are interested in the physical and human world and how they interact and who want to examine the growing challenges to our planet and how we will adapt. An A Level in geography is recognised for its academic ‘robustness’ and, most importantly, it also helps young people into the world of work as employers prize the knowledge and skills that studying geography can provide, be it knowing how the world works, planning research and report writing, working in a team, using new technologies and communication skills. The course involves carrying out four days fieldwork. Fieldwork is an important aspect of Geography. It allows students to gain a better understanding of the world around them, especially examining concepts which can be difficult to grasp. Students will take part in a coasts and urban area fieldtrips.
