Course summary

The new AAQ Extended Certificate in Information Technology is a practical, work-related course designed to provide students with a broad range of knowledge about the IT systems environment. The qualification uses a combination of assessment styles that give our students the confidence they can use to apply their knowledge to succeed in the workplace - and have the study skills to continue learning on higher education courses and throughout their careers. The range of vocational assessments - practical and written - mean students can showcase their learning and achievements when they take their next step; supporting applications to higher education or potential employers. This qualification is designed for learners who are interested in an introduction into the study of creating IT systems to manage and share information alongside other fields of study. The course allows students to study the fundamental knowledge of IT covering the role and implications of using IT systems and cyber-security threats and how to manage attacks.
