Course summary
This is a two year course (carrying up to 84 UCAS points) and is a combination of externally and internally assessed mandatory units along with internally assessed optional units. The course requires students to: Perform effectively on their instrument/voice Rehearse and display musicianship skills Initiate and develop repertoire Rehearse effectively and perform music live Understand contextual issues relating to music style, audience and the music industry Confidently use music technology to realise compositions There are four bands of assessment: Unclassified, Pass, Merit and Distinction. The course has many practical elements but also the need for students to complete written coursework to a good standard.
