Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour. The A Level course is linear, meaning that the assessment is in the form of examinations taken at the end of Year 13, which cover content studied throughout the two years. Topics covered include; Social influence, Memory, Attachment, Psychopathology and Biopsychology. Throughout the course, students gain an understanding of methods used when conducting psychological research and also of the issues and debates within the field of psychology.
To achieve a grade 5 or above in GCSE English Language. Students performance in Psychology or other Humanities based subjects at GCSE will also be considered.
