

A level Physical Education or ‘Sports Science’ provides students with the exciting opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of PE. Stimulating content and engaging qualifications will encourage students to immerse themselves in the world of Sports and PE. Studying A level Sports Science, will give students a fantastic insight into the world of sports performance. Not only will students have the chance to perform or coach a sport through the non-examination assessment component, they will develop a wide range of knowledge for physical activity, sport and analysis. The combination of physical performance and academic challenge provides an exciting opportunity for students. Students will gain the knowledge to improve their own and others’ performance or coaching through application of theory. Students will learn the reasons of why we do things, why some people out perform others – mentally and physically, the ethical considerations behind the use of drugs in sport and the influence of modern technology. Students will have the opportunity to develop a variety of personal skills, including communication using appropriate language and dealing with pressure.
