History A Level

Course summary

‘The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future’ (Theodore Roosevelt). History helps us to understand change and how the society we live in came to be. History explores the past, which causes the present, and so the future. History is a highly regarded academic subject and will help to prepare students for higher education. A-Level History will enable students to develop an advanced level of knowledge and understanding of some significant periods of time and a range of transferable study skills. It will also enhance students’ employability profile as it helps them to develop a range of transferable skills and can lead to a range of careers such as law, research, teaching, accountancy, journalism, politics, media etc.
