Course summary

This qualification offers an engaging and effective introduction to Psychology, offering students the chance to learn the fundamentals of the subjects and develop skills valued by Higher Education and employers including critical thinking and research.

Entry requirements

A minimum of five GCSE passes grade 5 or above, including English literature and maths, plus grade 6 or above in biology or combined science, and English language. Please note: a confidence in maths and statistics is also required as at least 10% of the marks in assessments for psychology will require the use of mathematical skills.

Assessment of exams taken at the end of the two year course: Paper 1: Core Units (Social Influence, Attachment, Memory, Pyschopathology) worth 33% Paper 2: Foundations of Psychology Research (Research methods, Biopsychology, and Approaches to Psychology) worth 33% Paper 3: Options and Issues and Debates (inc. Forensic Psychology, Schizophrenia, Relationships) worth 33%
