
The course builds on core graphics skills learned in KS4. The Graphics programme is made up 60% coursework and 40% exam spanning over two years. In the first year students will develop their portfolio. In the second year students choose their own area of study to explore and develop. This is decided upon after discussion with the teacher involved. For the externally set assessment a range of topics/ starting points are provided by the exam boards. Students are able to use equipment from the other VA & DT disciplines such as photography, 3D design, graphics and textiles. Digital and traditional techniques are explored, including Adobe Photoshop, line printing and animation.
At least 5 level 9-4 grades at GCSE including level 4 in Design and Technology, Art or Photography. In some level 4 cases, work may be reviewed by the staff for suitability to the A-Level course.
