
To respond to a set theme through the exploration of different photographic media, techniques and processes. To explore relevant images, resources and artists relevant to Photography and Art and Design and to respond to these through practical and critical outcomes, which demonstrate an understanding of different styles, theories genres. Students will develop a practical and critical understanding of lighting, composition, depth of field, time based techniques, Photoshop, visual language and contextual analysis of Photography. Students will respond to a given theme through; research, response and analysis of different Artists and Photographers, experimentation of different practical Art and Photographic techniques and development of ideas. For both the coursework and the exam, students will produce a portfolio of work and a minimum of one final outcome that answers the given theme.
Grade 5 or above in GCSE English Language. Desirable: A GCSE qualification in Art, Design or Technology
Coursework: Personal Investigation Students will produce a portfolio of work exploring a personal investigation into an idea, issue, concept or theme of their choice, supported by written material in the form of an essay. 60% of A-Level Externally Set Assignment: Students will produce a portfolio of work in response to one of eight exciting starting points set by the AQA exam board. Students will have 3-4 months to compose a body of work and then sit a 15 hour practical examination spread over 3 days in which they will compose a final Piece. 40% of A-Level
