Course summary

To develop an understanding of mind and behaviour by comparing and critically assessing the theories and investigations of Psychologists. The course will cover the main approaches in psychology: Biological, Behavioural, Psychodynamic, Cognitive & Positive through the study of both theory and application in the form of therapy. The main areas of psychology: Social, Biological, Cognitive, Behavioural and Positive will be illustrated and will lead to an understanding of research methods. In Year 2, controversial issues, topics of interest and applications of psychology will be studied, for example Crime, Abnormal and Stress, together with Research Methods.
