There are five sections to complete at the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold level. They involve helping the community/environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills, planning, training for and completing an expedition and working with a team on a residential activity.
Silver award or similar expedition experience (with scouts or cadets etc).
Support in curriculum time to prepare you for your Gold expedition – the rest of your award you will sort out yourself in your own time, including the residential section. We will give you some ideas and guidance for this. There will be a cost for the expedition and this will be run by an outside company in wild country (Snowdonia, Brecon, Dartmoor or Lake District areas of the UK).
