The English Language GCSE Mature syllabus is the same as that studied in Years 10 and 11. This course aims to raise your English grade to Level 5 or above. It is a one year course and is taught in both Year 12 and 13. It has been designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of language and to provide progression opportunities towards further study through a wide range of reading opportunities and writing for a variety of purposes. We will be following the GCSE English Language specification from AQA. The exam consists of two papers: a fiction paper and a nonfiction paper. You will have the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to communicate with clarity and meaning in your writing.
