“History teaches everything, including the future.” Alphonse de Lamartine (1790-1869) History allows us to learn about how and why the world we live in today has come to exist. It is the story of humankind; the famous and the unknown; of remarkable events; of great men and women; it is our story. History offers the opportunity to acquire and improve on a number of skills and qualities that are highly regarded by universities and employers. Through studying history you will learn how to: Select and organise information Analyse evidence and evaluate differing interpretations Assess the significance of events, individuals, attitudes and beliefs Construct coherent and well-reasoned arguments in a verbal and written format

Entry requirements

5 x GCSEs at Grade 5 or above, plus a Grade 6 in GCSE HISTORY and a Grade 6 in GCSE ENGLISH LANGUAGE or ENGLISH LITERATURE
