Media

Course summary

Media is an academic course (rather than a production-centred course) which studies the range of media industries and audiences. Students learn about the main concepts and theories which govern the production and reception of media texts. Like English Literature, the main form of assessment is through the academic essay, so this course would suit a student who is comfortable working through this medium. There is a compulsory production element which enables learners to construct a high-quality media portfolio of related texts. No prior study of Media is required to study this course at A Level.
