The topics studied in Year 12 include: • Aspects of society - The Changing Nature of Family, The Digital World, Youth Culture. • Artistic culture - Festivals and Traditions, Art & Architecture, Berlin Cultural Life. • We also study one film in depth – Das Leben der Anderen Year 13 builds on the topics studied in Year 12: • Aspects of society – Immigration, Integration, Racism • Aspects of political life - Political commitment of teenagers, Germany& the EU , Germany since the reunification • Study of a literary text - Die Verwandlung • Individual research project Why Study? Students who choose A-Level Languages develop the knowledge and skills acquired at GCSE, gain a useful insight into another culture and reflect on various aspects of contemporary society.
