
What is a T Level? (Subject to numbers and Employers offering work placements) T Levels are new two year courses which will follow on from GCSEs and will be equivalent to three A Levels. These two-year courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares learners for work. Year one: The first year will cover a range of core content and each T Level includes an in-depth industry placement lasting between 315 – 350 hours (45 – 50 days). Where you will get invaluable experience in the workplace leading to an employer set project. The project is made up of a number of tasks which all relate to the same Employer-set project brief linking to the core content of: • Research • Design • Plan • Present
5 GCSE's at grade 5 and above (including English & Maths).
T Level qualification grade will be overall Distinction, Distinction, Merit, Pass and Ungraded. Learners will be assessed against the following assessment themes: Health & safety Design & planning Manufacturing Reports The core component will be assessed through a project set by employers in the industry and two externally-set exams and is graded overall A–E plus ungraded (U).. The occupational specialism in mechanical engineering is assessed through a project that is created in conjunction with relevant employers. The Occupational Specialisms are graded overall Distinction, Merit, Pass and Ungraded.
