Course summary

You will complete an industry placement and study a core component followed by an occupational specialism in your second year. Core Component You will build knowledge and underpin concepts, theories and principles along with key skills for the education and early years sector. You will study the following elements: Wider Education Sector Supporting Education Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity and Well-being Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Child Development Working in Partnership Professional Practice Occupational Specialism Pathway - Early Years Educator You will study the following: Play, Development and Early Education Relationships Supporting Development Plan, Provide and Review Care, Play and Educational Opportunities Safeguard and Promote Health, Safety and Well-being Working in Partnership to Support Children's Development Industry Placement You will complete 750 hours of industry placement across the 2 year course to develop the occupational competency. Completion of this is mandatory and will provide you with a license to practice with young children.
