
This qualification combines learning in the classroom with a weekly placement in an early years setting where you will be able to put theory into practice. You will study a variety of topics including: Roles and responsibilities of the Early Years Practitioner Health and safety early years Equality, diversity and inclusive practice Safeguarding, protection and welfare in early years Child development Support care routines for babies and young children Planning and delivery of activities and purposeful play opportunities Promote play in an early years setting Support well-being of babies and young children Support babies and young children to be physically active Special Educational Needs and Disability Promote positive behaviour in early years settings Partnership working in the early years Support the needs of the child to prepare for school A number of specifications will be changing and prospectus entries are based on information we have to date. This means that course content may be subject to change.
At least two GCSEs at grade 3 or above, and Maths and English at 2 or above
You will be assessed through a combination of course work and assessment in placement. Successful completion of all assessments will award you a license to practice at level 2.
