Course summary
The Graphic Communication A Level is a creative course which encourages you to develop your skills as a practising designer. You will be introduced to a variety of projects with the intention to build both digital and hand-made design skills. You will build a portfolio of work and consolidate your learning with a personal investigative project and an externally set assignment. You are encouraged to experiment with a range of graphic processes, such as drawing, mark-making, printmaking, typography, illustration, photography, digital design and animation techniques. All work is supported using Adobe Creative Cloud suite. You will develop a critical understanding of contextual sources that support your designs. Students may explore overlapping areas during their study, such as interactive media (including web, app and game design), advertising, packaging design, design for print, illustration, communication graphics, branding, multimedia, motion graphics and design for film and television.
