This course is for students who did not achieve a grade 4 in GCSE English Language and need to resit to meet progression requirements for further study, apprenticeships, or employment.
Students must have previously sat GCSE English Language and English Literature and achieved below grade 4 in both exams. A willingness to improve reading, writing, and communication skills is essential.
Assessment is through two written exams at the end of the course, covering reading and writing skills. There is also a separate spoken language endorsement assessed internally.
