Course summary

Biology A level provides you with the opportunity to become involved in the study of living things. As a Shireland Sixth Form Biology student, you will study topics such as cell biology, neuroscience, evolutionary biology and ecology. An integral part of our teaching is practical work and all students will be expected to use biological equipment including colorimeters, microscopes. ecological sampling and microbial growth apparatus. As research and communication are an integral part of Biology A level, all students are provided with subsidised text books and exceptional teacher-created resources to support their knowledge and understanding of the course content.
