Course summary

The study of English Literature is, ultimately, the study of humanity, in the broadest sense. Great literature reflects the great moments of historical, political and social change, throughout history, told by those who lived through them. And yet, it is more than that. It is a deeply compassionate, personal insight into what it means to be human, at a world level, but also at an intimate and personal level. Lovers of literature broaden their understanding of themselves and those around them. As an academic and core subject, A level English Literature is valued by higher education providers. Any degree course requirements an advanced level of literacy, communication, and thinking skills, all of which are fostered by the rigorous, analytical approach taught at A level.
