This two-year course offers a deep dive into key biological principles, combining theory with hands-on practical work. With all exams at the end of Year 13, students build essential scientific, analytical, and communication skills through eight core topics and 12 required practicals. What You’ll Learn: • Topics include biological molecules, cells, genetics, energy transfer, and ecology • Develop key scientific skills: experimental design, data analysis, statistics, and scientific writing • Apply theory through regular practical activities embedded throughout the course Course Structure: • Two-year linear qualification with final exams in Year 13 • 8 key topics (4 each year) • 12 Core Practicals assessed across both years Enrichment Opportunities: Students can mentor younger peers, assist in lower school practicals, take part in the CREST award, attend university visits and talks, and opt to complete the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
