Paper 1 focuses on the physical geography taught, lasts 2 hours 30 minutes and consists of a mixture of short answer questions and a 20-mark question per topic. It is worth 40% of the A-Level grade. Paper 2 focuses on the human geography taught, lasts 2 hours 30 minutes and consists of a mixture of short answer questions and a 20-mark question per topic. It is worth 40% of the A-Level grade. The final component is an individual investigation that requires the student to complete an individual piece of fieldwork. The final piece is a 3,000—4,000 word write up, is marked by teachers and is worth 20% of the A-Level grade.
