
Why Children’s Play, Learning and Development This two-year, full-time course meets entry requirements for learners who want to progress to employment in early years educator roles and supports progress to relevant occupational areas and higher education. Course content Students spend two days every week on placement in either nursery schools, infant schools, private nurseries, special needs schools or units. They record their development in a Practical Evidence portfolio including child observations and activity plans which enables them to gain Early Years Educator status. In the sixth form students study child- related subjects including children’s development, keeping children safe and development of children’s communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
