Course summary
Studying Philosophy at A level involves debating and discussing some of the deepest and universal questions. You will be able to get a broad insight into the development of philosophical thought that extends from Plato through to thinkers such as Thomas Aquinas, David Hume, Bertrand Russell and many others. You will be able to see how human beings have attempted to make sense of the universe, asked questions about the nature and meaning of existence and struggled with questions about right and wrong. Questions asked include: What can we know? Is there a God? Is the mind the same as the brain? How should we live? How should we treat others?
